Now for some good news…come see The Future of Energy (79 min.), a positive film about the renewable energy revolution and the creative people who are re- imagining their relationship with the earth and with each other. The screening will be held at the North Island College theatre (Courtenay) on Tuesday Dec. 2 at 7 pm.
This is a powerful documentary that captures the movement across the US to transition to renewable energy. The film features creative visionaries such as Bill McKibben (350.org) and Joanna Macy as well as Mayors Bob Dixon and R. Rex Parris who have worked with local people to shift their cities to 100% renewable energy sources. Jeremy Rifkin provides the economic rationale for a transition from fossil fuels.
Proceeds from the event will go to Pull Together, a collective of groups raising money to support First Nations in their legal challenges to the Enbridge Northern Gateway project. All donations raised before December 31 will be matched by a donor. See: http://pull-together.ca/
