Fair Trade

World Community Coffee

World Community coffee is purchased directly from a farmers’ co-operative which is working to develop a truly sustainable agriculture in the region of Pancasan, Nicaragua. We have a direct and personal connection with the members of this co-op. Several of our members have visited the growers on more than one occasion and we have hosted the president of the co-op in our community.
A portion of our profits support Atencion Primeria En Salud, a network of one hundred eighty rural primary health care providers in Nicaragua. Coffee sales also support a recycled bicycle project linking Nicaragua with Comox Valley residents.
World Community is the ONLY Comox Valley based supplier of organic, fairly traded coffee which contributes a significant portion of our profits and our efforts to Comox Valley groups and causes. World Community is the Comox Valley supplier of fairly traded coffee which puts resources back into our community, including the Comox Valley Transition Society, AIDS Vancouver Island, Wachiay Friendship Centre, Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society, Cumberland Community Forest Society, Comox Valley Land Trust, Comox Valley Naturalists, Global Nursing Project at North Island College, and many other groups.
